Today we watched Lewis and Clark: Great Journey West. This is the IMAX movie that played at the Whitaker Center in Harrisburg several years ago. The movies portrayed the Lewis and Clark expedition as they travelled westward. As students watched the movie they took notes on obstacles they encountered; animals, plants, and geography they encountered; and, Native Americans they encountered. Here is the website to the movie:

On Friday students have a choice whether to take an open notebook test on Lewis and Clark, or create a product demonstrating what Lewis and Clark discovered. Today the students signed up for either the test or the product. The product can be in any form (powerpoint, moviemaker, poster, comic strip, illustrated timeline, etc...) and must tell a story from the expedition while showing some of what they discovered.
