Tuesday, May 13

The illustrated storyline was collected.

The Civil War Story assignment was handed out and explained. Students need to look at the VoiceThread on Mr. Titzel's American Cultures 2.0 Blog and choose a picture to center their short story around. The story needs to be based in the Civil War, have a twist or irony, and have a point or moral. The Story will be due on Monday, May 19th.

The class was divided into 4 groups. Each group was given a sentence from Ambrose Bierce's short story An Occurance at Owl Creek Bridge. The group then silently collaborated in writing a short story from the given sentence. The story had to have a beginning, middle, and an end; a twist or surprise; and a point or moral. This is practice for students before they write their Civil War Short Story.
